Violent Femmes have released nine studio albums and more than a dozen iconic singles, among them such classics as “American Music,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” “Nightmares, “Add It Up,” and of course, “Blister In The Sun.” Their remarkable three-decade-plus career has earned them cumulative worldwide sales in excess of 10 million, with 1983’s Violent Femmes awarded with RIAA platinum certification eight years after its initial release. The Violent Femmes self-titled debut album has reached legendary status that few albums ever attain. Released in 1983, Violent Femmes became one of the most distinctive records of the early alternative movement and an enduring cult classic. By combining elements of Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers with new wave and acoustic-folk and punk rock, the Femmes forged a sound all their own. Currently out of print on vinyl, this new 180-gram LP reissue faithfully reproduces the album’s original artwork, which features one of the iconic album covers of the 1980s.

First released in 1993, this 23-track compilation features Violent Femmes biggest hits, including “Blister in the Sun,” “American Music,” and “Gone Daddy Gone,” plus live recordings of favorites like “Add It Up,” and “Kiss Off,” alongside a trove of demos, B-sides, interstitial voice recordings, and rarities. Add It Up (1981-1993) draws from the band’s first five albums—documenting the trailblazing trio’s stylistic development as they rose to become one of alt-rock’s most commercially-successful acts. Offering fans more than just a compilation of hits, Add It Up also spotlights Violent Femmes’ energetic live performances—captured at the height of their career. Additionally, nearly half of the collection is devoted to rarities, including demos, B- sides, and imports that were previously unavailable in the US, at the time of Add It Up’s release. These include “I Hate the TV,” “Gimme The Car,” and “Dance, M.F., Dance!” “With Gordon Gano's never-aging teen whine and a crack rhythm section, the Femmes have had brief moments as America's best rock & roll band. This collection captures some of them.” - Steve Knopper.

Featuring the fan favorite “American Music,” which reached #2 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Chart, as well as a cover of Culture Club’s “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me.” “The momentum of the song [“American Music”] and the album that spawned it provided a springboard for the band to bona fide cult status.” – Rolling Stone.

This NY four-piece draw on their diverse backgrounds and interests, experimenting with African guitar music, the Western classical canon, hazy memories of Cape Cod summers, winters in upper Manhattan, and reggaeton. Modern Vampires of the City is Vampire Weekend's third album, and it is a bustling world of voices and visions from the death of Henry Hudson to the Orthodox girl falling in love at an uptown falafel shop, from Hannah Hunt tearing up the New York Times on a distant beach to the lethal chandelier of "Everlasting Arms," from the ardent yearning of "Don't Lie" to the harmonized voice of hope in "Young Lion". Modern Vampires of the City has a grandeur and romanticism evocative of the city where it was conceived.

Import 180-gram LP pressing. When the blues was no longer hip as it was in the '60s Stevie Ray Vaughan crashed the charts with his debut album 'Texas Flood' in 1983. Spending more than six months in the charts made Vaughan a true star and on his own he revitalized the blues experience again. On 'Texas Flood' Stevie Ray Vaughan celebrates his influences, pumps fresh blood into the familiar genre and made it a success... once again! The album kicks off with two well known songs 'Love Struck Baby' and 'Pride And Joy', after which he starts building to the climax of 'Dirt Pool' and 'I'm Crying'. The album concludes with a tribute to his wife 'Lenny'. Stevie Ray Vaughan's unique quality is that he's not an artist who just recorded albums in the blues genre trying to approach the standard. Instead he just simply joined in with all the '60s blues legends.

The groundbreaking band’s 10thstudio album, HOTEL LAST RESORT resides among Violent Femmes’ finest work, simultaneously refining and redefining their one-of-a-kind take on American music, mingling front porch folk, post-punk, spiritual jazz, country blues, avant garde improvisation, and golden age rock ‘n’ roll. Founded and fronted of course by Gano and Ritchie, the group remains as warm, wise and weird as ever before, with such new favorites as “Another Chorus” and “Everlasting You” continuing to mine the vast range of ideas, melodic complexity, and organic sonic craftsmanship that has characterized the band’s body of work since their landmark 1983 debut.
